This spectacular body of water is surrounded by a beautiful mountainous scenery and fed by the waters of the rivers of Santiago and Huaynamota, apart from the runoff of the coming waterfalls from the Occidental Sierra Madre. The extension of this national park covers an area of 12,800 ha, rich in flora and fauna. This is habitat and shelter of reptiles, birds, and mammals. Although the reservoir is in the process of stabilization, it’s an excellent place for sport fishing.
